We have an exciting opportunity for a qualified Management Accountant, proficient in German and English to join our global travel business working with our fantastic boating company, Le Boat!

As a Management Accountant, your role is an integral part of the Le Boat finance team, which is spread across the UK, France and Ireland, and now extending to Germany. Involved in all aspects of accounting for our operations in Germany, Holland and Belgium, you will manage reporting and analysis, statutory accounts, VAT accounting and tax reporting. This is an opportunity to work on a global platform engaging with the wider Travelopia finance function, the operating base managers, and local accountants.

What you will be doing:
- Owning all reporting and control for our German, Dutch and Belgium entities, looking after full profit and loss (P&L) and balance sheet. You will be responsible for:
- Monthly reporting and analysis will include but not limited to: variance analysis, preparation and posting of accruals and prepayments, bank reconciliations, posting cash and other journals, and capitalisation and depreciation of fixed assets
- Ensure accurate and timely VAT and other statutory returns are prepared and submitted
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations and review of peer balance sheet reconciliations
- Statutory accounts schedules and submissions to local accountants in a timely manner
- Audit liaison and provision of vital information
- Ensuring compliance controls are in place and adhered to
- Providing forecast input to the Finance Director for your entities
- Working with base managers to understand the cost base and control costs
What we are looking for:
- A qualified accountant with a CIMA or Bilanzbuchhalter qualification with demonstrable experience in preparing and analysing monthly results, as well as forecasting, working with budget owners
- Knowledge of financial control, and able to ensure processes are in line with a good control environment. Experience in VAT Reporting, as well as knowledge of German financial laws are all crucial
- This is a hands-on role so you would need to seamlessly flex between being in the detail and looking at the bigger picture, understanding complex group structures
- Intermediate Excel skills, able to expertly manage VLOOKUP’s and Pivot tables is required, as well as being proactive, finding solutions and taking ownership of situations as needed. Working on your own initiative and collaborating with the wider finance team will be key to your success in this role
