Role Overview

As part of the Galvanizing Department, you will be trained and responsible for operating all aspects of the Wire Galvanizing Lines. The position is responsible for providing verification of the quality of the product being produced.

The position operates on a 7 Day/12 hour continuous shift rotation from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. This role requires membership in the Teamsters Union, Local 213.

Main Responsibilities

  • Understanding the galvanizing process and the factors involved in maintaining a quality finished product
  • Perform all product inspections required to ensure products meet specifications
  • Correctly welding the full range of low and high-carbon wires
  • Follow inventory control procedures
  • Follow work instructions and manufacturing procedures
  • Keep track of the order of balances and product changeovers
  • Cleaning the zinc and lead furnaces/tanks as required
  • Maintain all process parameters within specified control limits
  • Other duties as required.

Compensation

The position rate of pay is $36.98 per hour. In addition, the department production incentive plan is applicable.

What You’ll Bring

  • At least two (2) years of manufacturing experience
  • Strong problem-solving skills, ability to recognize and assist in resolving mechanical issues
  • Mechanical aptitude, basic understanding of equipment
  • Strong skillset for using required hand tools and testing equipment
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • High aptitude for quick learning
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Availability to work any shift and overtime as needed
  • Must be comfortable operating a forklift (in-house training will be provided)
  • Must be comfortable wearing a full-face respirator
  • Must be comfortable working around molten metals and heat
  • Quality conscious
